Communicating through paint

PAM is known for her loose and impressionistic WATERCOLOR AND ACRYLIC PAINTINGS WHICH let the paint speak for itself

Pam Ferworn is a Houston based artist.  Her interest in art began at a young age, when she would draw and paint with her grandfather and mentor, Clifford Leach.  She furthered her art career under the tutelage of Shawn Carson, Mary Hortman, Robert Sklar, Catherine Anderson (AWS, NWS), Stephen Quiller (AWS, NWS, NSPCA), Roland Schmidt and Debra Hayden.  Pam has been inspired by Roland Roycraft, Nita Engle, Linda Kemp (CSPWC, SCA) and members of the Group of Seven.

Pam is a native of western Canada.  Her style is influenced both by her upbringing in the Canadian shield, prairies and rocky mountains and also her adopted home of Texas. The Texas scenery provides a different painting experience and color palate with its gulf shores, piney woods, prairies and hill country.  Both locations provide for beautiful references for landscape paintings.

Pam is very active in her community as a volunteer with schools and other philanthropic organizations.

For certain months, a percentage of her art sales will be donated to non-profit organizations.  Pam has also donated pieces to local school and non-profit organizations for their fundraising auctions.

55th Annual Members Exhibit

October 2025

The Annual Members Exhibit (AME) is one of two juried exhibitions each year, the other being the International Watermedia Exhibition (IWE).  AME is WAS-H's longest running event, the first AME having been held in 1969 when WAS-H was a chapter of the Southwest Watercolor Society before incorporating as WAS-H in 1975.  AME showcases the best-of-the-best from WAS-H's extraordinary member artists.   While only members may enter paintings in AME, everyone is invited to come and view the exhibit during Gallery Hours.
